Giraffes * How tall DO they grow?

How tall do giraffe's grow?
A newborn giraffe is about 6 feet (1.9 meters) tall at birth and weighs about 150 pounds (68 kilograms).
They grow about 1" per day!  About 4 feet (1.2 meters) in their first year of life, and up to 20 feet as adults!

Hasani the Baby Giraffe gets a special pair of shoes at Woodland Park Zoo


Hasani the giraffe was born last spring at Woodland Park Zoo.  She had a special need:  shoes to protect her legs while they grew strong enough to support her.  Watch and find out how this was done.
